Oracle EBS FINDINI 4.0.8.2

Release Notes

This December 2015 FINDINI 4.0.8.2 release will be available to users on Monday December 21, 2015. This exception release came about as a result for the immediate need to ready the Oracle EBS application for SHA-2 SSL certificate compliance as well as minor security database patches needed for CPATH and the OBI replication environments.

The key features included in this release are:

  • January 1st security compliance to avoid further browser issues that require SHA-2 SSL
  • Security and compliance patches for the CPATH and OBI replication databases
  • Java JRE updates to 1.8.0_66 b-18 which  will make Oracle EBS compatible with the Firefox 38.4 version
  • Annual 1099 2015 Tax Reporting Patches

The University's financial systems will be unavailable from Friday, December 18th at 6:00pm until the start of business Monday, December 21st at 6:00am to complete the installation of this release. The Oracle EBS Financial systems that will be offline during this time include Accounts Payable, Accounts Payable Adjustment Form for Assets, Accounts Receivable, Bottomline, CAPS, Cash Management (CMRA), Chart Security Maintenance Application (CSMA), CoA Validator, Collections, FedEx, General Ledger, GL Validator, Harvard Oracle Assets, HCOM, iProcurement, iReceivables, PCard, Vendor Request, Web ADI, and Web Reimbursement. Also, the CPATH (Capital Planning at Harvard) & OBI environments will also be offline for a shorter period of time during this outage.

The next FINDINI release 4.0.9 is tentatively planned for April 23, 2016. We are already actively working on this next release which is focused on integrating the new Concur Travel and Expense system with the Oracle GL & PeopleSoft, upgrading the CPATH application, upgrading the OBI Replication database, and migrating PCARD to a new platform, as well as some additional bug fixes and system enhancements.

Additional Release Details for FINDINI 4.0.8.2

The FINDINI 4.0.8.2 release will include a JRE update to version 1.8.0_66 b-18.  When logging in for the first time after December 21st, users will be required to download an updated Java JRE (version 1.8.0_66 b-18).  If users receive a popup message that a more recent version is available, they should NOT act upon the request. The CADM HUIT End Point team will also be pushing Java 8.66 b-18 to all HUIT supported users with LANDesk who currently have Java 8.51 beginning on 12/21. It is highly recommended that non supported HUIT schools do the same where possible after 12/21. This latest version of the JRE will better support the Firefox 38.4 browser upgrade as well.

Please Note: Launching Java content (Oracle Forms) through Internet Explorer 11 may show a delay of around 20-25 seconds before the forms starts to load. This issue does not affect Firefox where the applet starts as usual after only a few seconds. This issue will be fixed by Oracle in a future JRE 1.8.0_xx release that the FSS Oracle Team will coordinate with our HUIT partners once Oracle provides that patch.
