Oracle ADI
Q: I cannot open and upload a 12.1 ADI worksheet?
A:  Use a new 12.2 ADI worksheet (download from system)

Q:  I am able to get into Oracle, download an ADI, but I tried to upload and I get “Action Required”.  How can I fix this issue?
A:  Close Excel.  Generate a new ADI spreadsheet from Oracle Financials.  On the Oracle Menu Bar, click on "Switch Responsibility", choose your appropriate General Ledger responsibility, click "Select" then click "Close".  Open your previously saved 12.2 ADI worksheet or fill out the current ADI worksheet to upload.

Q:  I am able to get into Oracle, download an ADI, but I tried to upload and it gets stuck on the Journals Upload screen (Processing Upload screen).  How can I fix this issue?
A:  To fix this issue please follow the instructions in this HUIT ATS Harvard Trusted Sites document.

Q:  I receive a "Protected View" error message relating to security macros when trying to use WebADI.  How can I fix this issue?
A:  To fix this issue please follow the instructions in this HUIT ATS Harvard Trusted Sites document.

Q:  I receive a Microsoft Visual Basics '1004' error when trying to use WebADI.  How can I fix this issue?
A:  This is an Excel setting which needs to be adjusted.  Please do the following:

1. Open Excel
2. On the Menu bar go to File, then [Excel] Options, then Trust Center, then Trust Center Settings, then Macro Settings
3. In the top section, select the radio button for “Disable all macros with notification”.
4. In the bottom section, check the box for “Trust access to VBA project object model”.
5. Click OK to save the settings.
6. Close Excel.
7. In the spreadsheet which is being created, Excel will then ask if the Macros should be allowed to run.
8. Only enable macros from trusted sources.

Q:  I receive a "Security Risk Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted" error message when trying to use WebADI.  How do I fix this issue?
A:  The latest version of Microsoft Office has added security. It is, therefore, necessary to add the download / working path to trusted locations and save the webadi files there before opening.   To implement the solution, please follow the steps below :

1.  Open any blank MS Excel worksheet
2.  Navigate to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center settings > Trusted locations
3.  Click on "Add locations" button and add the appropriate path where the WebADI document is downloaded / saved.  Please note at times ADI has issues with uploading journals from share drives because of the long path names. If your ADI is on a share drive, you may want to try adding your desktop to upload from instead.  But, some users have had success if they sync their SharePoint site with their One Drive and then add it as a Trusted Location in Excel.
4.  Click "Ok"
5.  Re-test the issue by downloading new WebADI document

Note:  Alternatively, users can unblock a single document at a time.  The user will be able to go to the Properties dialog for the file and select Unblock which will allow the macros to run, as long as no policy or Trust Center setting is blocking.

Q:  I receive an Excel error "Cannot run the macro HsTbar.xla!HsTbarAction'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled" message when trying to use WebADI.  How do I fix this issue?
A:  The user is clicking on the "AddIn" menu instead of clicking on the "Oracle" menu for upload.  Click on the Oracle menu bar item then Upload.

Q:  While using an ADI spreadsheet which has additional macros added outside of Oracle, I receive a Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime Error '5'.  How do I fix this issue?
A:  ADI spreadsheets in which macros have been added or altered are not supported by Oracle Application.  Please refer back to the source of the altered spreadsheet for assistance.

Q:  While uploading an ADI, I receive an error:  The specified directory C:Users\xxxXXX\AppData\Local\Temp\bneradCBBD0\bne\docProps is empty, so Compressed (zipped) Folders cannot add it to the archive. How do I fix this issue?
A:  Delete all files from your version of this location C:\Users\xxxXXX\AppData\Local\Temp
What I usually do is highlight everything and delete them – the system will tell you if any files are in use – for those I say to not delete them.  Restart your computer, then try WebADI again.

Q:  After generating an ADI, I receive an Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime Error when connecting the worksheet:  Run-time error '-2146762748 (80Db00D4)': Method "Run" of object "_Application' failed. How do I fix this issue?
A:  Macros are not being recognized by Excel.  Whether the user changes the Excel Macro Setting from "Disable VBA macros with notification" to Enable VBA macros (not recommended...) the error still persists.  User should have IT take a look and potentially reinstall Excel.
